Trash

garbage-a-polluted-creek-003Some have said that a picture is worth a thousand words. With that in mind, I give you this:

That’s in Metro Manila by the way. The Filipino people, government, businesses, and etc. have demonstrated a blatant disregard of the environment with no end in sight. With the way garbage is disposed in the country, one wonders how and to what extent unacceptable waste disposal intensifies the death toll of say a Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy, locally).

In George Romero’s  Dawn of the Dead, there’s a line that goes: “when there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth”. In the case of the Philippines, when there’s no more room for trash, the trash will kill Filipinos. The unfortunate and preventable disregard for the environment leads to a deadlier storm like Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy).
