Dracula

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897) is a horror classic that has inspired many other vampire stories, from Nosferatu (1922) to Twilight (2008-2010).
Dracula set the standard for what a vampire looks like and how it behaves in Western culture. The novel contains many religious overtones, as Dracula is repelled by communion wafers and crucifixes.
One of the most important aspects of a vampire is drawn directly from the Bible. Deuteronomy 12:23 says, “Only be sure not to eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.” Renfield, a character in a lunatic asylum eventually revealed to be under the sway of Dracula himself, quotes this verse directly. The Bible influences various literary genres, even horror novels.

The Skin We’re In: Judging our own Flesh

Society has strong words about what we should look like and what is attractive to others. God has strong words, as well. He made us to reflect Him.

Different views

John relates Jesus’ life from a heavenly point of view, while Matthew relates it from a Jewish point of view, Luke from a Greek point of view, and Mark from a Roman viewpoint. As a consequence, John is the only Gospel author who wrote to a universal audience. Why did he write the book? Here is John’s answer to that question:
“These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
John 20:31

Spiritualism

Spiritualists do not believe in Heaven or Hell (Matthew 10:28; 25:46) nor do they believe in evil spirits (Mark 5:8 and Matthew 12:43).They don’t believe in salvation by faith in Christ either (Ephesians 2:8-9). They believe human life continues after death, where everyone has the opportunity to progress to better and higher and grow more spiritually. These conditions are open to everyone. This is an attempt to combine Christianity with the occult practices.
